I went into this book expecting something dark, messy, and a little unhinged—but the level of chaos right from the start honestly caught me off guard. The opening threw me into such a whirlwind that instead of feeling intrigued, I felt more confused than hooked. It took me a while to even understand what was going on, which made it harder to fully settle into the story.

I also anticipated some stalking elements (it is dark romance, after all), but the reasoning behind it didn’t land for me the way I expected. Instead of adding depth or tension, it mostly left me puzzled and a bit disconnected from the characters.

Another aspect that didn’t quite work for me was the constant drama surrounding the love interest’s former best friend. It felt repetitive and, at times, unnecessary—like it was dragging the story out rather than adding anything meaningful. I kept wondering if all of that conflict was really needed.

Overall, while I can see how readers who enjoy intense, chaotic dark romance might appreciate this, it just didn’t fully hit the mark for me. The confusion, paired with the nonstop drama, made it hard to stay invested.
