The enemies-to-lovers trope? Perfectly executed.
— Abigail Books Addiction

Was I counting down the days until I could finally read the sequel to Spell Caster? Yes.

Did it live up to my expectations? Absolutely.

Did it emotionally wreck me in the best way possible? Without a doubt.

This book didn’t just meet the bar—it obliterated it. Somehow, it outdid itself and then went even further. The dark academia atmosphere is thicker, the stakes are higher, and the emotions hit harder.

The enemies-to-lovers trope? Perfectly executed. That slow, aching tension finally tips over, and when it does—oh, it’s so worth it. From the very beginning, I just knew they were meant for each other, and watching everything unravel (and come together) was incredibly satisfying.

The endless secrets threaded throughout the story completely blew my mind. Every time I thought I understood what was happening, another revelation dropped. So much is constantly unfolding that I genuinely couldn’t put the book down—it held my attention from start to finish.

If I had one wish, it would be to expand a bit more on the world-building. The world is fascinating, and I wanted just a little more depth to fully sink into it.

And lastly… a side note: I still don’t like that former friend. Even after the betrayal, it’s a hard no for me. Some characters simply don’t get redemption in my heart—and she’s one of them.

Overall, this sequel is everything I hoped for and more. Dark, emotional, romantic, and completely consuming.
