Hate to say it, but this book was just too messy for my taste—and that’s saying a lot because I usually love messy books. This one? Yeah… not it. Especially for a romance.

Sorry but not sorry, I do not like reading about cheating in romance books. Physical, emotional, whatever flavor—it’s a no for me, and this book had it. A lot of it. And it just completely ruined the experience.

What really pushed me over the edge was the male love interest. He never separated himself, never took a stand, never chose the main character. Instead, he literally gaslit her while they were both emotionally cheating. Like?? Be serious. That dynamic was exhausting and honestly uncomfortable to read.

I truly tried. I went in with an open mind. I wanted to like it. But at the end of the day, this book just wasn’t for me, and I can’t pretend otherwise. It’s a hard no from me.
