If you're a fan of hockey romance, this YA take on the genre might be worth a spot on your TBR—especially if you're into slow burns and coming-of-age character growth.

The story follows a determined main character who's easy to root for. What really stood out to me was her drive to grow, improve, and stay true to herself no matter what obstacles she faced—on or off the ice. Her personal journey added depth to a plot that, while not groundbreaking, kept me turning pages.

That said, some of the character dynamics felt a bit immature at times—especially the love interest. His behavior leaned a little too childish for my taste, and while their relationship had its moments, I couldn’t help but feel like the main character deserved someone who matched her energy and goals.

Overall, I didn’t love the story, but I didn’t hate it either. It had a few good moments, and for readers who enjoy slow-burn romances with sports at the heart and a strong female lead, this could still be a satisfying read. Just go in knowing it leans more teen than swoon-worthy.
