the heart of the story is absolutely there
— Abigail Books Addiction

If you know me, you already know I’ll read anything Tessa Bailey writes. She just gets how to craft a fun, flirty, and deliciously spicy romance—and she’s done it again with her upcoming release, Catch Her If You Can.

I’m an absolute sucker for a friends-to-lovers story, and this book delivers that trope in the cutest, most satisfying way. There’s something irresistible about watching two close friends dance around their feelings, denying the obvious chemistry simmering between them. The tension? Top-tier. The slow burn? Perfect. You can practically feel every stolen glance, every almost-confession, every moment where they’re one heartbeat away from giving in.

The story also weaves in a past timeline that adds great emotional depth. Those glimpses of their history show exactly how long they’ve been falling for each other—while stubbornly pretending they aren’t. It’s messy, sweet, and so, so fun to watch unfold.

I will say the pacing is a bit all over the place, but the heart of the story is absolutely there. Just make sure you’ve read the previous book in the series, because this one picks up right where that left off and you’ll appreciate the continuity.

Overall, Catch Her If You Can is a charming, tension-filled, slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance that hits all the right spots—exactly what I expect (and love) from Tessa Bailey.
