This story kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time
— Abigail Books Addiction

I don't think I've ever been disappointed by a Fonda Lee book, and this one is no exception. At this point, I'll read anything she writes because she has completely mastered the art of crafting immersive sci-fi fantasy stories. From the very first page, I was hooked, and before I knew it, I couldn't put the book down.

This story kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Every chapter had me questioning what I thought I knew, constantly trying to piece together the mysteries, only for the ending to completely surprise me. There are so many twists, secrets, and layers to unravel that you'll want to pay close attention to every little detail because nothing is included without a reason, and the payoff is so worth it.

I also loved the main character. She stayed true to herself no matter what she faced, and watching her navigate everything happening around her made her incredibly compelling to follow. The stakes are unbelievably high from beginning to end, making this an intense and gripping read.

If you're looking for romance, this isn't that kind of book. The focus is entirely on the sci-fi fantasy elements, the intricate plot, and the nonstop tension, and honestly, I loved that. It's a story driven by its world, its mysteries, and its characters, and Fonda Lee absolutely delivers another unforgettable read.
