“The banter is top-tier, effortless, and so fun to read.”
I literally loved this book so much.
I’ll be honest—I was hesitant at the beginning because I wasn’t sure how I felt about the main character. But wow, did she completely win me over. The more I read, the more I loved her. She knows exactly what she wants and refuses to let anyone stand in her way, even when people don’t agree with her choices or her strict routines. She doesn’t care. She’s determined to be the best, period.
Of course, things aren’t easy. She faces real setbacks—like getting a new coach… who she accidentally kissed a month earlier. Awkward? Absolutely. But they’re both adults, they move forward, and the tension is chef’s kiss.
The ongoing battles between them—especially over the training schedule—had me laughing out loud. The banter is top-tier, effortless, and so fun to read. And the chemistry? It never fades. Not even for a second.
What I loved most is how the coach clearly wants her but refuses to push her. He lets her set the pace, which is something she’s not used to at all—and watching that shift is incredibly satisfying. Their dynamic is respectful, intense, and perfectly balanced.
They are truly meant to be, and this book delivered everything I want from a sports romance: strong characters, hilarious banter, undeniable chemistry, and emotional growth. I couldn’t put it down and I already want to reread it.
