I’ll be honest—I was hesitant to pick up this romance novel. I didn’t love the first book in the series, so I went into this one with lowered expectations. Unfortunately, my concerns were valid.

While I didn’t hate the book, I can’t say I really enjoyed it either. It fell somewhere in the middle for me—a very "meh" read. Not terrible, but not particularly memorable or compelling.

What didn’t work for me most was the rushed nature of the second chance romance. The characters reunited and rekindled their relationship in less than a week, and that just didn’t feel believable. A relationship with so much history (and presumably baggage) deserves more time to develop and heal, especially if the story wants readers to root for them.

Overall, this one just didn’t click with me. If you’re a fan of fast-paced reunions, you might enjoy it more—but personally, I needed more depth and development to buy into the romance.
