“Reading Uncharmed felt like wrapping myself in a warm blanket”
I’m officially in my cozy fantasy era, and Uncharmed was exactly what I needed to fully embrace it. There’s just something magical about curling up with a comforting, whimsical story as the leaves start to turn—and this book delivered all of that and more.
Reading Uncharmed felt like wrapping myself in a warm blanket. I was so immersed that I completely lost track of where I was in the story—until I hit the last page and realized it was over. I’m honestly a little sad to have finished it, because it brought me so much joy and fall-season coziness.
At its heart, Uncharmed is about a witch named Annie who’s trying so hard to have everything in her life perfectly under control. But when she starts mentoring a teenage witch who’s just coming into their powers—and when a certain unexpected houseguest returns from their adventures—Annie’s carefully constructed world starts to unravel in the best possible way.
This book captures the found family trope beautifully. The relationships feel real and warm, and watching Annie slowly realize that being her true self is more important than being perfect was deeply satisfying. She learns that life isn't about rigid plans—it’s about the surprises, the growth, and the connections you make along the way.
If you’re looking for a heartwarming, magical story with a strong emotional core, Uncharmed is the perfect read for the fall season. I absolutely loved it—and I think anyone who enjoys cozy fantasy will too.
