“enjoy reading gothic fantasy books with grumpy male interests and captivating world-building, then you will enjoy this book”
I just love anything Rachel Gillig writes, so I was beyond excited to read her newest book, The Knight and The Moth. And I had so much to say, but I won’t say much because I don’t want to spoil anything. I will say some things so you can know how I feel about this book.
First, the pacing in the beginning will throw you off. I am just warning you so you won’t feel bamboozled about why you don’t enjoy this book so far. It’s just a slow pace in the beginning, but it does pick up. Trust me, it does, and it will get you more invested in the story.
Second, I love a grumpy male interest. It’s always the best kind of love, male interest. They are in their true form until they meet a sassy yet captivating main character. Plus, who doesn’t love when the grumpy male interest becomes soft when they see their loved one in trouble or hurt? It’s literally the best in fantasy books.
And last, the cliffhanger left me wanting more and a bit frustrated that I have to wait for the next book. Literally, why did Rachel Gillig do this to me and all of her readers? Like, I feel like I've been bamboozled. I don’t know how to process. I just know that I need the next book in this duology ASAP.
If you enjoy reading gothic fantasy books with grumpy male interests and captivating world-building, then you will enjoy this book.
