I will always pick up anything Lana writes because her books are such a comfort read for me. While this one wasn't my favorite from her, I still had a good time reading it.
The romance was sweet, and I'm always a fan of the forced proximity trope, but I just didn't fully buy the chemistry between the main characters. Their connection never felt as strong as I wanted it to, so I had a hard time getting emotionally invested in their relationship.
One thing I really appreciated was the mental illness representation. It was handled with care and added an extra layer of depth to the story, making the characters feel more authentic.
Overall, this wasn't a standout favorite for me, but it was still an enjoyable hockey romance. If you love forced proximity, heartfelt moments, and thoughtful mental health representation, I think it's still worth picking up.
