“if you’re in the mood for something sweet and a little dramatic”
This was such a light and easy romance read—perfect for passing the time. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either. It’s an enjoyable story overall, especially if you’re in the mood for something sweet and a little dramatic.
I’ll admit, I didn’t really feel the connection between the main characters until later in the book. There’s definitely a bit of insta-love happening, so be warned if that’s not your thing. The romance itself, though, ends up being cute, and I really liked the chemistry between the main character and the love interest once it kicked in.
There’s also a fair amount of family drama and a touch of friend drama—enough to add some depth without taking over the story. I did wish there was a little more development for the main character within her friend group; her growth comes more toward the end, and while I enjoyed that part, I wanted to see more of it earlier on.
Overall, it’s a light, enjoyable romance with some ups and downs but a satisfying ending.
