Just from the cover alone, I knew I had to pick this book up. I actually didn't realize it was a mystery, which is a genre I don't usually read, so it definitely pushed me a little outside of my comfort zone. The story starts off slowly, but once it finds its footing, I was much more invested in uncovering how everything would come together.

One of my favorite aspects was the cast of characters. Every single one had their own struggles and backstory, and I loved seeing how their lives gradually intertwined in unexpected ways. It made the emotional moments hit even harder, and I found myself really rooting for them.

And can we talk about the dogs? They completely stole the show for me! Every scene with them brought so much heart and warmth to the story, and they easily became my favorite part of the entire book.

Overall, while the pacing took a little time to pick up, I'm glad I stuck with it. It was an emotional mystery with interconnected characters, heartfelt moments, and some truly lovable dogs that made the journey worthwhile.
